Whether or not you live in the US, believe in American democracy, or are interested in it at all, the threat is real.For the first time in American history, a former president might be sent to jail, and it doesn’t get much more concerning than this.
The most dangerous issue here is that it’s going to create a precedent, not only for America but also for Europe. We can see that the US is a trendsetter in politics, so expect the same to be done to any unwanted political opponent in the Western world.
The Left wants you to believe that Trump is guilty and should face the consequences of his actions. But then so should Biden, Obama, Clinton, and any other Democrat, or, frankly, even a Republican.The punishment we’re talking about, according to Trump himself, is a 561-year sentence, or half a millennium. That’s more years than American Democracy has existed. A horrifying number.But the use of the judiciary as a weapon will definitely backfire on any political force.
It’s not a question of political values or ideology; it’s a matter of saving freedom and Western civilization.
