Finnish Parliament ceases serving Pepsi due to Russia business ties

The restaurants in the Finnish parliament have discontinued serving Pepsi due to the soft drink’s parent company maintaining its operations in Russia.

According to Finland’s public broadcaster Yle, PepsiCo products are no longer available on the parliament’s premises as of Tuesday.

This decision comes in response to a complaint filed by Tuomas Kettunen, a centrist member of parliament, who urged the parliament on Monday to “set an example” by halting the sale of “blood Pepsi.”

Last week, PepsiCo was added to Ukraine’s list of private companies deemed to be “war sponsors”.

Although the company ceased production of Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and 7UP in Russia last September, it continues to market its products in the country, where profits quadrupled last year.
