The virtual meeting, hosted by South Africa, gathered major emerging economies, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, with the primary objective of formulating a unified response to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed the imperative need for a serious and comprehensive peace process to establish a Palestinian state based on the borders of 1967. Emphasizing the Kingdom’s unwavering stance, he underscored that genuine security and stability in Palestine can only be achieved through the implementation of international decisions aligned with the two-state solution.
Earlier this year, Riyadh received an invitation to join the BRICS bloc, marking a notable development in its diplomatic engagements. The Crown Prince reiterated Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip and called for an immediate cessation of these actions.
Addressing the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman characterized the ongoing events as “brutal crimes” that demand a collective and resolute effort to bring them to an end. The Kingdom vehemently opposes the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and urged collaborative initiatives to prevent further deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the enclave.
Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip since the commencement of the war on October 7, the Crown Prince expressed the urgency of addressing the dire situation. According to Gaza authorities, the conflict has resulted in a devastating toll, claiming the lives of more than 13,300 people, with thousands of casualties, including children.
