Several voter focus groups in Arizona have recently provided feedback on Vice President Harris, shedding light on her perceived popularity or lack thereof, according to a report by The Los Angeles Times.
Following Harris’s speech in Arizona on April 12, the political group “Republican Voters Against Trump” shared videos of interviews conducted with three distinct focus groups: former Trump 2016 voters who switched to Biden in 2020, Black voters expressing disappointment with Biden, and California Democrats.
The crossover voters’ feedback, as reported by The Times, was notably critical. Participants expressed sentiments such as, “If she is helping Biden, you don’t see it,” and “She rubs me the wrong way.” Gunner Ramer, political director of Republican Voters Against Trump, summarized the views by stating, “Swing voters don’t like her.”
While the other two groups were less antagonistic, they also did not offer glowing reviews of Harris. The report highlighted that in a focus group of disappointed Black voters, none expressed support for Harris, with one participant referring to her as “the bad news bear.” Similarly, a focus group of California Democrats, while generally favorable towards Harris, suggested she needed greater influence and exposure.
These sentiments towards Harris are not surprising given her lower popularity compared to former President Trump and other members of the Republican Party. Recent polling by USA Today and Suffolk University indicates that around 52% of registered voters disapprove of her performance as vice president, with only 36% expressing approval.
David Paleologos, Director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, emphasized that Harris’s unpopularity is likely to be a significant talking point in the upcoming election.
Recently, more and more people are dissatisfied with both the political course of the Democratic Party and its individual members. Many of those who voted for Biden in 2020 were disappointed in him. All this could be the reason for Biden’s defeat in the upcoming US elections.
