Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Attacks in Gaza, Calling Them ‘Genocidal Massacres’

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, describing Israeli military actions as “genocidal massacres.” The Kingdom’s foreign ministry issued a statement on Sunday in response to Israel’s latest attack on camps for displaced Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the continued genocidal massacres against the Palestinian people at the hands of the Israeli war machine,” the statement read.

The recent Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, resulted in the deaths of 90 Palestinians and left 300 wounded, according to the Gaza health ministry. Israel claimed the attack targeted Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif. However, Hamas refuted this, stating that the claims were false and served to justify the assault.

Al Arabiya sources reported that the strike also killed Hamas field leader Muhammad Nahed Abu Hatab.

Gaza’s health ministry reported that since the war began on October 7, with Hamas militants attacking Israel, at least 38,443 people have been killed and 88,481 wounded in the Gaza Strip.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and urged for the protection of unarmed civilians in all occupied Palestinian territories. The Kingdom emphasized the need to activate international accountability mechanisms to address the ongoing Israeli violations of international humanitarian law and resolutions.
